Yah!! I'm Back

Well I have been very busy lately. I taught my daughter how to crochet and she really is getting into it. Also I have been busy learning to knit lace. I joined Shawls Scarfs Ect. and knitting Delight on yahoo groups so I have been busy with KAL and such. Lately i am working on my first pair of knit socks and I'm still unsure of what I feel about that. Five needles can be pretty daunting. These are two of my recent projects in lace knitting. It was really fun. They are scarfs I did with the Shawls and scarf group on yahoo. Right now it is on standby because group mom has been ill and having to plan a wedding at the same time. She is a super person and can't wait for her return . Her name is RaAnn if you want to check out her group.

Back at it

Well lately I have been busy knitting and teaching my daughter to crochet. She has been really busy at it and I must admit she is picking it up fairly quick. She has made a dishcloth and 1 and a half baby afghans. I will try to post pictures soon. I have been working on some knit alongs to learn lace knitting. So far so good, I seem to be getting the hang of it. For anyone out there trying to learn a new craft all I can say is go for it. If you really want to learn something you will, even if means ripping out and starting over. There really is nothing quiet like the feeling you get when you have finally learned something new. And to see that finished object is about the best self-esteem builder in the world.

Star Afghan

This is my Star afghan opened. It is the one I crocheted for my daughter's friend. It is pale green with bright yellow for the edging.

Scarf

This was my first attempt at knitting lace. It is a Seaman's scarf I made in a KAL. It was really a lot of fun, and has given me the confidence to try my hand at other lace knitting.

Folded Star Afghan

This is a picture of a Star Afghan I made for a friend of my daughter. She is having a baby girl in 3 months.

Thanks for looking.

Well guess this is about all for now. I will post more finnished objects when I get a chance. Hope you enjoyed lokking atthese as much as I enjoyed making and sharing them.

Danielle's Afghan

This is a pattern of my own that I use. It is two colors purple and blue that looks interwoven when crocheted. It is simply 2 single crochet and 2 double crochet first worked across in one color then worked across in the second color with the sc over the double and the doubles over the singles. You work both yarns at the same time in the same direction. Then I just made up an edge that would give it a lacy look. My Danielle has been an afghan baby all her life. She loves cuddling up in them when she is feeling under the weather. She said it makes her feel warm and secure because she knows it was made for her special with love.

My Shawl

This is my shawl. It is a little longer than my daughters with a different color set up. I bought all kinds of fancy fur yarns and chenilles and homespun to make each shawl different and unique.

My First Shawl

I made this shawl for my 21 year old daughter. It is a half circle shape made of all different type yarns and colors with very long fringe.

Coast Guard Dishcloth

This is a knitted dishcloth I recently made for a friend. I got the pattern from Raeann of WicketStitches.

Off To A New Start, I Hope!

Well I guess it's time for this old girl to catch up to the rest of the world and start a blog. I hope to post some of my completed craft projects on here soon. Please bear with me if this isn't quiet perfect but it sure can be trying to teach an old dog new tricks, but hopefully it will all go well. Thanks for your time looking at this.
